Unguentum Sulphuris Compositum or Compound Sulphur Ointment, Itch Ointment, or Jackson’s Itch Ointment is, according to the United States Pharmacopia of 1858, is an ointment or salve comprised of melted lard to which is added specific amounts of sublimed sulphur, potassium nitrate, Viratrine (Hellebore), and Oil of Bergamot.
