Counter Urns-Jars were highly attractive apothecary jars used in the 19th and early 20th century pharmacy.  They were made by several different glass companies and were handled by most wholesale drug companies.  The jars within each category were of the same general shape, but differed it the embossing on the neck, stopper, and base.  They were used for both utilitarian and display purposes.  These jars were also used in confectionary stores, but were mainly apothecary jars.
