Cupping Glasses or Tins were typically constructed in the form of a tumbler, excepting that they were provided with a dome-shaped top. Patterns of this character were applied by burning a small quantity of alcohol or paper within the interior of the glass, thus expanding the contained air, just prior to application over the scarifiedsurface of the skin. Instruments of similar form were also producedfrom tin, brass and horn.
