Attributed to Paul Richer (1849-1933), collaborator with Jean Charcot, and an accomplished draftsman, engraver, and sculptor.  Richer was head of the clinical laboratory for diseases of the nervous system at the Salpetriere, and professor of anatomy at the National School of Fine Arts.  He authored numerous works on the history of art and medicine and on anatomy for artists.  An English translation of Richer’s treatise on Artistic Anatomy remains in print.
