Originally registered Sept. 9, 1879 and the new model shown here was introduced about 1885.  The device was actually an evaporator fueled by kerosene.  It was indicated for the treatment of “Whooping Cough, Colds, Bronchitis,  Sore Throat, Pneumonia, etc.
