Adriaan van der Spieghel [Spigelius] 1578-1625, commissioned Francesco Valesio and Odoarado Fialetti, a pupil of Titan, to produce these magnificent copper plates under his direction.  Considered to be some of the most outstanding engravings in all of medical literature.
