Viennese Scarificators, 18th century, the brass elegantly engraved. Their cubic brass bodies, 3 cm. on a side, is provided with an iron cocking lever, iron release lever and decorative iron depth adjusting screw.  Both are entirely functional, with sixteen blades passing through the sixteen slots.  Among the finest mechanical scarificators are those from Vienna, where considerable attention was given to their engraved decorations.
