Ornate Staffordshire Earthenware Jars for Leeches, Honey and Tamarind (a fruit laxative) were among the most fascinating vessels in 19th-century pharmacies.  These date mostly from late Georgian to early Victorian times and were produced largely by the Staffordshire potteries.
