Biography
Anthony P. Tizzano, MD, FACOG
Dr. Anthony Tizzano is on the clinical faculty of obstetrics and gynecology at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic's Lerner College of Medicine. He recently served as medical director at Cleveland Clinic's Family Health and Surgery Center in Wooster, Ohio. He is the vice-president at the Cleveland Medical Library Association, Advisor to ACOG's Jacobs Library for the History of Obstetrics and Gynecology in America and Honorary Curator of the Dittrick Medical History Museum. Dr. Tizzano is director of the Regional Sexual Assault Task Force and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners Program. His clinical interests include contraception, minimally invasive surgery, menopause, urinary incontinence, and abnormal uterine bleeding. He currently serves as chief historical advisor for the PBS Civil War Drama, Mercy Street.
Dr. Tizzano earned his BS, summa cum laude, from Slippery Rock University. He received his medical training at the Ohio State University and completed internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati.
He is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, Cleveland Ob/Gyn Society, and the Cleveland Medical Library Association.
Dr. Tizzano has lectured widely and authored articles and book chapters on contraception and history of obstetrics, gynecology, and pelvic surgery. An avid collector, he holds one of the most unique private collections of medical artifacts and medical books in the country. His extensive museum, while privately situated, makes a worthy contribution to the study of women's health history.

Anna Claspy
Anna Claspy graduated from the College of Wooster with a BA in History, summa cum laude, in 2016. Her senior thesis explored tensions between midwives and physicians in 17th and 18th century France. She is interested in public history, the history of medicine, French history, and North African history. She interned at the Dittrick Medical History Museum in 2015, and worked as a student researcher on the Wooster Digital History Project in 2014. Theresa Dunne
Theresa Dunne is a History major at The College Wooster. Her areas of interest include public history, civil rights history, feminist history, and recent American history. In 2015, Theresa interned at the Western Reserve Historical Society. Theresa primarily worked with the "Gynecology", "Medicine", and "Veterinary" collections. Heather Smith
Heather Smith is an Economics and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies double major at The College of Wooster. Her areas of interests include feminist theory, public policy, and feminist economics. In 2015, Heather worked with the Applied Methods Research Experience coding for an insurance company.
