Scilla maritima or Squill is a perennial plant that grows in countries bordering on the Mediteranian. The large bulb is the portion of medicinal interest. Vinegar of Squillis prepared as follows: “take of Squill, bruised, four ounces; diluted acetic acid two pints, macerate the Squill with the acetic acid in a closed vessel for seven days; express the liquor, let settle and finally, pour off the clear liquid.”
