Antimony exists in nature in four states, metallic, oxide, sulphuret and a sulphuretted oxide. It is found principally in France and Germany. Nearly all commercial antimony is extracted from the native sulphuret, by fusion, whereby the powdered ore is gently heated while stirred by an iron rake. It is then added, while hot, to water to produce Antimoine Diaphoretique.
