Administered as a cooling and laxative medicine, from a tablespoonful to a wineglassful every or hour or two until the desire effect is produced.  As a cathartic an adult may take the contents of one bottle, half of it at first and the remainder in one or two hours.  An additional glass of cold water increases its activity as a purge.
