Citrate of Magnesia Bottles were supplied in several different finishes:  the ordinary crown bottle cap, blue metal screw cap , glass, and porcelain stopper with wire cage. Citrate of Magnesia, effervescing solution “as a substitute for salts it is destitute of bitterness and its pleasant acidity of tasting an its effervescing character, is rendered a very agreeable and refreshing drink.”
