Finely turned vessels of ebony or ebony and with perforations at the top of a slender neck and a bulbous base containing powders allowed for introduction of same powders into the fingers of gloves, both surgical and otherwise. Of the six examples in the collection each are different and some have a metal insert at the base that when pushed, serves to eject the powder.
