In this superb, early example marked “S. OFFORD” there are seven teeth and corresponding perforations on both blades.  Constructed of un-plated, forged steel and bearing a markedly aged patina.  The branches are from heavy square stock and are joined at the pivot point by a heavy screw/rivet.  Handles are smooth ebony.
