Long-handled Spring Forceps with Vulsellum Points were designed for and well suited to handling soft delicate tissues during dissection and suturing.  Accordingly, a model identical to the one shown here is illustrated in John Weiss & Son’s 1863 catalogue along with other instruments intended for use in the treatment of female diseases, specifically, the repair of vesico-vaginal fistula and for grasping endocervical polyps.
