Reverdin’s closing-eye needle are of two basic patterns, straight and curved but with numerous subtle variations of both.  They consist of a slender shaft, the distal end of which is provided with an eye that may be opened or closed by means of a sliding bar.  This enables the operator to quickly and simply thread the needle.
