Adriaan van der Spieghel [Spigelius] 1578-1625, commissioned Francesco Valesio and Odoarado Fialetti, a pupil of Titian, to produce these magnificent copper plates. These plates illustrate the earliest accurate representation of the placental vasculature and vaginal vestibule with the clitoris.
