Robert Wartenburg (1887-1956) published his Studies in Reflexes.  History, psychology, synthesis and nomenclature.  Arch. Neurol. Psychiatry. He employed a pinwheel of his own design to determine areas that register appropriate sensations as the pinwheel rolls over the skin.
