Wilson Screw Barrel Microscope Outfit, English, mid-18th century, unsigned, with a splendid turned ivory handle. The instrument is constructed of brightly lacquered brass. A spiral brass spring holds the stage against the large screw, mounted with condensing lens. Six numbered objectives are provided with 4 brass dome type covers present. Accessories include: one brass slide with live wells, 5 ivory sliders, hand lens, and thumb forceps, all contained in a fitted mahogany box complete with working key. All is in VFC.
