Simple Compass-joint Microscope

A splendid and fine Compass-joint Microscope, English, mid-3/4 18th century.  The instrument is made of brass and steel, with a lovely turned ivory handle.  The lenses mount on a pillar and are set into copper cells with concave silver Lieberkuhn reflectors.  A typical specimen forceps, pin and opaque disc are present.  All is contained in leather covered, chamois lined, fitted wood box with hook latches.  A nice example in good working order and in VFC.
