The original formulation of Dr. Bateman’s Drops dates back to a patent in 1726.  It contained opium and 32% ethanol and was intended for treatment of chills, diarrhea, cramps, colic, and to produce sleep.  Bateman’s Drops were intended for use in infants and adults and was dosed accordingly.
