H.R. Storer devised a “clamp-shield” an instrument intended to lessen certain surgical dangers associated with extra-abdominaltreatment of the ovarian stump.  The smallish clamp was manipulated by a more elaborate and removable application apparatus so that the former might remain in situ when required.
