An exceedingly rare form of cyst forceps devised by Clement Godson for use in the ovariotomy operation.  The jaws of the instrument are provided with block-like teeth that interlock with an opposite arrangement on the opposing jaw.  The jaws are held closed by a linear ratchet-like mechanism, distal to the hand holes and is conveniently acted upon by the index finger.
