Ombredanne was invented ~1908 to administer ether in a more precise manner by means of a fitted aluminum mask attached to a chamber provided with a graduated metering device surrounded by wadding to disperse the ether evenly within the chamber. A brass dial with arrow indicator adjusts flow and a rebreathingbag fashioned from a pig’s cecum is provided.
