The Coin-catcher & Probang, likely American, second half 19th century, with a flexible two-piece baleen and spring steel shaft with a coin-catcher mounted on one end to extract coins and other small articles that might have gotten lodged in the esophagus.  In the event that retrieval fails, the opposite end is provided with a wool applicator to push the foreign body directly into the stomach.
