A typical example of a late nineteenth century Victorian office cabinet well suited for gynecological purposes.  Models such as this were often available in walnut or more commonly in quarter-sawn oak.  These were typically provided with wheels so that they might be easily moved and a door with shelves pivoted to reveal an array of instruments and medicines when needed.
