Mayer’s scarificator consists of an ordinary, but petit 4-6 blade scarificator, held at the distal end of his instrument designed to hold, position, and deploy the scarificator against the uterus.  A square hole at the proximal base of the scarificator accepts the square peg at he distal end of the instrument and the opposing arm is brought down on the firing button. An exceedingly rare and fine example by Luer, polished steel, and with a finely turned and checquered ebony handle, EC.
