A beautifully crafted and rare form presented as a urethral or uterine speculum but without a known reference.  Given its design incorporating a very narrow tri-valve arrangement, the presence of a rest to permit introduction of a fine gauge instrument through the resulting aperture and the device’s robust mechanical advantage and ample handle, one must acknowledge it’s resemblance to Weiss’ uterine and urethral specula.
