Jacques Lisfranc’s V. Speculum c. 1829

$4.99

Jacques Lisfranc, 1790-1847: was one of many who modified Recamier’s design, in this case by splitting the cylinder along its longitudinal axis, flattening the distal end and attaching handles to either side that are joined by a pivot that provides for lateral displacement of the blades.  A splendid and rare example with conical pewter blades and curved steel handles with spring catch by Lesueur A. Paris, VFC.
