Daniel T. Nelson’s tri-valve speculum incorporates two upper blades fashioned in such a manner that their proximal ends transition into ebony clad handles secured by a cross-bar and thumb screw extending from one handle and through the other.  Nelson’s form affords added visibility of the anterior vaginal wall.
