Philippe Ricord’s Folding Bi-valve Vaginal Speculum c. 1837

$4.99

Parisian, Philippe Ricord.  1800-1889 repeated Hunter’s experiments defining thespecific character of syphilis and divided it into three stages, primary, secondary, and tertiary.  “Ricord’s chancre” is the name given to the initial lesion associated with primary syphilis.  He also proved that gonorrhea and syphilis were separate diseases.

A splendid and unusual example of Ricord’s classic design and featuring folding handles.
