Presentation Ricord’s Speculum

4.99

Philippe Ricord.  1800-1889 repeated Hunter’s experiments defining the specific character of syphilis and divided it into three stages, primary, secondary, and tertiary.  “Ricord’s chancre” is the name given to the initial lesion associated with primary syphilis.  He also proved that gonorrhea and syphilis were separate diseases. After Hunter, he was the greatest authority on venereal disease as put forth in his Traite pratique des maladies veneriennes.  Paris, 1838.

An extraordinary andunique, gold-gilded, and cased presentation speculum given by Ricord himself to a “Mr. Mauricet, Externe at De L’Hospital Du Midi, 1860.”
