Among Stohlmann's many contributions was his compact speculum vaginae, composed of three blades, which, when closed form a narrow cylinder and, which, by means of a single screw are forced apart at the distal end.  Constructed of German silver and steel. Signed Tiemann in Gothic script. VGC.
