Tiemann & Co.’s Universal syringe as illustrated in Tiemann’s 1872 Catalog was “intended for the injection of the vagina and uterine cavity.”  Comprised entirely of hard rubber, it was provided with several tips that were designed to fit snuggly over the tapered tip with stopcock.
