Keen’s pattern incorporates jaws that can easily accommodate curved needles at multiple angles and a handle that permits a full-handed grasp.  The handles terminate in a catch that is so constructed that the two form a lock when the handles are pressed together and that, with slight finger pressure, the catch may be instantly released.
