Mathieu’s-Kersten’s pattern incorporates jaws that can easily accommodate curved needles at multiple angles and a handle that permits a full-handed grasp.  Each handle terminates in a catch so adjusted that the two form a lock when the handles are pressed together and that may be instantly released by squeezing the handles further in a single motion.
