A rare and fine needle holder by F.G. Otto & Sons N.Y, N.Y., that, in consideration of its long and delicate design, was likely intended for use in vaginal surgery where the ability to open a more conventional needle holder is less than ideal or not possible on account of the caliber of the vagina.  The jaws are petit, circular in shape, and provided with fine grooves to accommodate and secure fine suture needles, and are connected to a split shaft passing through a tube that when advanced, by means of a thumb-lever, bring the jaws securely together.  VFC
