Bozeman’s - Simon’s version of Sims’ Specula consists of two handles, which may be attached to any one of eight different blades.  Half of the blades are of a Sims-type pattern while the remaining are of a flat or so-called retracting type. Together the complete set forms a convenient outfit for either examination or surgery. The attachment of the handle is by means of a slip joint, separated by a thumb-switch and is easily cleaned.
