Samuel Kristller, 1820-1900, of Berlin presented a complicated but ingenious obstetrical forceps to the Berlin Obstetrical Society in 1860.   His graduated vaginal retractors are clearly modeled after Sims’ design and were light weight, constructed from a composite.
